Following Mt. Gox's demise in early 2014, a year of downward price action culminated on October 6th when an anonymous whale limit sold 30,000 BTC on Bitfinex. For six hours, the price stalled at $300 until all the coins were sold and the so-called "bearwhale" was slayed. The event has become an enduring part of bitcoin folklore, symbolizing the community's resilience and determination in the face of market FUD.
Commemorating this pivotal moment in bitcoin's history, a special edition set of ten prints marking the 10-year anniversary of the infamous event was created. That set of prints is sold out. However, there are two artist proofs from the series that are yet unsold. This auction is for artist proof #2 of 3. The print measures 13 x 16¾ inches, is signed and numbered, and hand-stamped with a commemorative seal.
